Description: This 10-foot high plaster statue of a boy who discovers soil was a model for a bronzed concrete replica that President Roosevelt unveiled in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. The Civilian Conservation Corps sent the sculpture to Camp Somis, near Camarillo, after the Fair. It has long since disintegrated into the plaster.
