The Woman of Tehuantepec
San Diego Sculptor Donal Hord was one of the local artists chosen by the WPA Federal Arts Project to design public art to capture the spirit of the New Deal. The 39 X 28-inch sculpture is made of Indiana limestone and depicts an Aztec woman pouring water out of an olla directly into the mosaic fountain. [text from City of San Diego Archives]
