Joan Wade, who rode naked on her burro through Gold Gulch in July, 1935, was first warned, arrested a day later, then acquitted. She remained in her role with the Folies Heldorado show in Gold Gulch. She agreed in August to marry Louis Haley, a cook at the exposition.
