Famed fan and bubble dancer Sally Rand appeared at the exposition for a week, beginning April 11, 1936. She performed twice daily in the Palace of Entertainment and outdoors twice each evening in the Plaza del Pacifico. Nudists from Zoro Gardens protested her performances because she refused to appear at the nudist colony.
