The Ford Music Bowl amphitheater seating up to 3,000 persons. During the summer of 1935 there were twice-daily concerts by symphony orchestras from San Diego (2 weeks), Los Angeles (2 weeks), Portland (2 weeks). The Mormon Tabernacle Choir (1 week) was followed by the San Francisco Symphony (2 weeks) and the San Diego Symphony for a final week. The summer of 1936 brought crowds back to the Ford Bowl. The San Diego Symphony played most of the season, spelled by the Mexican Tipica orchestra,
and a 2-week return of the San Francisco Symphony.
